Romal\u0131 askerlerden biri Ar\u015fimet\u2019in General Marcellus ile tan\u0131\u015fmas\u0131n\u0131 istedi ancak Ar\u015fimet bu teklifi, problem \u00fczerinde \u00e7al\u0131\u015fmas\u0131n\u0131n hen\u00fcz bitmedi\u011fi gerek\u00e7esiyle reddetti. Askerin bu cevaba kar\u015f\u0131l\u0131k sinirlenmesiyle Ar\u015fimet\u2019i \u00f6ld\u00fcrd\u00fc\u011f\u00fc bilinir. Ancak \u00fcnl\u00fc bilim insan\u0131n\u0131n \u00f6l\u00fcm\u00fc konusunda tart\u0131\u015fmalar devam etmekte ve kesin bir bilgi bulunmamaktad\u0131r.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Ar\u015fimet<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ar\u015fimet; mekanik, geometri, matematik ve hidrostatik gibi alanlarda \u00e7al\u0131\u015fmalar yapt\u0131 ve bir\u00e7ok farkl\u0131 alanda eserler yazd\u0131. Yapt\u0131\u011f\u0131 bu yeniliklerle alakal\u0131 herhangi bir eser yazmam\u0131\u015f fakat mekanik alan\u0131n\u0131n tersine geometri ve fizik alanlar\u0131nda bir\u00e7ok eseri bulunmaktad\u0131r.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Denge prensiplerini ilk kez ortaya koyan ki\u015fi olarak bilinen Ar\u015fimet, e\u015fit kollara as\u0131lm\u0131\u015f e\u015fit a\u011f\u0131rl\u0131klar\u0131n dengede kald\u0131\u011f\u0131n\u0131, e\u015fit olmayan a\u011f\u0131rl\u0131klar\u0131n ise e\u015fit olmayan ko\u015fullarda belirli ko\u015fullar sa\u011fland\u0131\u011f\u0131nda dengede kalabilece\u011fini ke\u015ffetmi\u015ftir.
